      On 1 October 1799, Absolom Cooper took out a marriage bond from the clerk of the court in Orange County, North Carolina, as surety that there was no legal obstacle to the proposed marriage between he and Catherine Armstrong [sic].1

Absolom Cuper was mentioned as the husband of Catrenah Cooper in his father-in-law John Armstrong's will dated 8 September 1806 in Orange County, North Carolina.2
