     Mary Catharine Armstrong was born in 1732 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Armstrong and Jennet (—?—) (Armstrong).1 She married James Currie on 31 May 1758 at St. James Episcopal Church in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where they had fled with others of their Cumberland County settlement owing to the incursions of the Indians.3,2,4 She died in 1779 in Orange County, North Carolina.2
