     James Butler was an early proprietor and planter of Lancaster.4 He appears on the tax lists of Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, for the years 1676, 1677, and 1678.5 In addition to the children listed below, James and Mary had another daughter whose name is not known.4
