     Jonathan Crisp was born on 29 January 1639/40 in Watertown, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Benjamin Crisp and Bridget (—?—) (Crisp).1 He died before 25 October 1680 when his father administered his estate that consisted of three items—fifteen acres of land in Dunstable (£15), 28 acres in Groton (£20), and a horse (£2).3,4
     
     Jonathan Crisp was living in Groton in 1664 when he owned a house-lot of 28 acres with an addition thereto, three acres in the general field, five acres in Flaggy meadow, three acres at Massabogue Brook and two acres in the Angle meadow, all compared and approved by the selectmen on 27 December 1664.5 In 1675 he was of Dunstable when he appeared in Suffolk court and acknowledge a judgement against himself and his estate to Mr. Benjamin Gibbs of Boston for £10: 10: 0 in money, execution being issued 12 July 1675.5 He was in King Philip's War and was paid £2: 10: 6 for his services on 24 April 1676.6,5
