Nathaniel Blodgett was born on 16 March 1670/71 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Daniel Blodgett and Sarah Underwood.1
Nathaniel, his brother William, and their grandfather Underwood's second wife, Ann, were named joint executors of William Underwood's will dated 14 March 1693/94. He left the brothers an acre of land each and the improvement of the two oxen "until it may be judged by discreet persons that it will be convenient to turn them to fatting." Also, the brothers shared in all the remaining lands and meadows and the residue of the estate with their cousin, Joseph Butterfield.2
