Family Background:
Fairfield and Allied Families
Charles Brown was the son of Andrew Brown.1

It is highly probable, though not proven, that Charles was a son of Andrew Brown Sr. If so, he was named for a possible uncle, and a nephew, the son of Joshua, was named for him. He was in Black Point garrison in 1676. Davis speculates that perhaps he and other sons of Andrew Brown were among the nameless Scarborough victims of the Indians.1
