     Benjamin Downing was the son of Capt. John Downing Esq. and Susanna Miller.2 He married Elizabeth Fabyan, daughter of John Fabyan and Mary Pickering, on 3 December 1724 in Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.3 He died in 1753 in Arundel, York County, Maine.4
     
     Benjamin Downing of Newington and Arundel (Kennebunkport), was a joiner.5

Benjamin Downing's father John Downing deeded to him "lands and property at Kennebunk or near Cape Porpus at a place called Miller's creek, formerly occupied by my Honoured Father-in-Law Mr. John Miller," 10 September 1725.5

Benjamin and Elizabeth Fabyan owned the covenant at Newington Church on 10 April 1726 and on the same day had their daughter Alice baptized.6

Benjamin Downing owned the covenant and was admitted to full communion at Newington Church on 20 July 1728 and on the same day had his daughter Elizabeth baptized.7

In 1728 he settled in Arundel where he was a deacon and served as town clerk from 1750 until his death in 1753.4

Benjamin Downing was mentioned in his father John Downing's will dated 23 February 1743/44.4
