Benjamin Downing was the son of Capt. John Downing Esq. and Susanna Miller.2 He married Elizabeth Fabyan, daughter of John Fabyan and Mary Pickering, on 3 December 1724 in Newington, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.3 He died in 1753 in Arundel, York County, Maine.4

Benjamin Downing's father John Downing deeded to him "lands and property at Kennebunk or near Cape Porpus at a place called Miller's creek, formerly occupied by my Honoured Father-in-Law Mr. John Miller," 10 September 1725.5
