Coreinne Frances Bitner was born on 25 May 1896 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.2,1 She was the daughter of David Willard Bitner and Hannah Juliann Cordrey.1 She never married. She died after 1987 in Fort Wayne. She was buried in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.3
Traditionally, Coreinne was engaged to be married, and on the wedding day her fiance was killed in a car accident. She always lived in the Bitner family home in Fort Wayne. When her sister Mildred married, her husband Joe Stier moved in, and after her grandfather Francis Cordrey died in 1917, her uncle Ayres Cordrey lived with them. Coreinne, Mildred and Joe lived together the rest of their lives, and died within a few years of each other in the late 1980s. Not long before the girls died, they sent Charles Horn of Pasadena, Texas, a large box full of family memorabilia that includes an unpublished Cordrey family history written by Francis Cordrey, and also by Francis, a long manuscript dealing primarily with his experiences in the Civil War.
