     Mildred Ernestine Bitner was born on 11 August 1899 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.1,2 She was the daughter of David Willard Bitner and Hannah Juliann Cordrey.1 She married Joseph Jacob Stier on 3 July 1926 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.2 She died after 1987 in Fort Wayne. She was buried in Lindenwood Cemetery, Fort Wayne.3 Click to view image
     
     When Mildren married, her husband Joe moved into the Bitner home in Fort Wayne. after her grandfather Francis Cordrey died in 1917, her uncle Ayres Cordrey lived with them. Coreinne, Mildred and Joe lived together the rest of their lives, and died within a few years of each other in the late 1980s. Not long before the girls died, they sent Charles Horn of Pasadena, Texas, a large box full of family memorabilia that includes an unpublished Cordrey family history written by Francis Cordrey, and also by Francis, a long manuscript dealing primarily with his experiences in the Civil War. She and Joseph Jacob Stier had no children.
