     William Shallcross was born circa 1706 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.1 He was the son of Leonard Shallcross and Ann Ellet.2 He married Ruth Palmer, widow of George Hulme and, daughter of John Palmer and Christian (—?—) (Palmer), circa 1733 in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.2,3 He died in Falls township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.2 Letters of administration were granted on his estate 16 May 1749 to his widow, Ruth Shallcross.2
     
     William Shallcross always lived in Bucks County perhaps on his father's plantation in Makefield township which was devised to his brother Leonard, but which Leonard did not occupy. At the time of his death, however, he was living in Falls township.2
