John Pers was born circa 1588 in England.1 He married Elizabeth in England.1 He died on 19 August 1661.1
John Pers of Norwich, Norfolk, England, weaver, immigrated to this country in 1637, bringing with him his wife Elizabeth and four children, John, Barbre, Elizabeth and Judith. They came to New England in either the John and Dorethey of Norwich, or the Rose of Yarmouth. Mr. William Andrews, Sen., was master of the former, and his son, William Jr., of the latter vessel. Both ships sailed from Ipswich and arrived in Boston 8 June 1637. The four children who did not accompany their parents in 1637 were probably the oldest of the family, and had apparently emigrated at an earlier date.
In his will dated 4 March 1657/58, "John Perse of Watertowne... weaver" names his wife Elizabeth as principle heir and sole executrix, with legacies to "Eldest sonne" Anthony and "other children."2
