Dorcas Cox was born in 1733 in Somerset County, New Jersey.² She married Moses Ayres say 1753 in Somerset County, New Jersey.^2,1 She died in 1814 in Old Green Cemetery on Savage Mountain, near Lonaconing, Allegany County, Maryland, on property patented to Moses Ayers, Senior. Her gravestone is inscribed D.A. born 1733, died 1814."²
