     John George Bachman was born on 14 October 1756 in Upper Saucon township, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.2,3 He was the son of Henry Bachman and Elizabeth (—?—) (Bachman).1 He was baptized on 28 December 1756 in Tohickon Union Church, Bucks County.4,3 He married Barbara Steele in June 1781 in Quakertown, Northampton County, Pennsylvania.5 He died on 13 September 1834 in Mifflin township, Franklin County, Ohio, at age 77.6 He was buried in Mifflin Township Cemetery.7
     
     John George Bachman, also known as George Baughman, was a farmer and carpenter. He served in the Revolution in the 4th Regiment Artillery, Continental Troops.8 George and Barbara Bachman had ten children, five sons and five daughters.1
