     Rachel Jane Carson was born on 15 July 1794 in Abingdon, Washington County, Virginia.1 She was the daughter of Charles Carson and Rachel Clark. She and Colonel Thomas Evans Casselberry obtained a marriage license on 1 September 1812 in Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana Territory.2,3 She married Colonel Thomas Evans Casselberry, son of Paul Casselberry and Elizabeth Evans, on 8 October 1812 in Knox County, Indiana.2 She died on 25 November 1844 in Posey County, Indiana, at age 50.
