Cadwalader Morris was born say 1686 in Merionethshire, Wales. He was the son of Morris Cadwaladr and Catherine Griffith. He married Elizabeth Morgan, daughter of Edward Morgan and Elizabeth Morgan, 24 3m 1710 (24 May 1710) in Gwynedd Meeting House, Gwynedd, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, under auspices of Haverford Monthly Meeting.1,2 Letters of administration were granted to his widow on 23 December 1727.3

Cadwalader Morris of or near North Wales, yeoman, bought 100 acres in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, from Alexander Edwards of North Wales, Philadelphia County, yeoman, for 34 pounds on 28 12m 1707 (28 February 1707).4
Cadwalader Morris was among the Friends (Quakers) who united in 1709/10 to raise money to build a new meeting house at Gwynedd, to replace the original log meeting house built in 1700. He signed the subscription paper dated "the sixth day of the first monthy in the year one thousand seven hundred and nine-ten," pledging £2 payable in four installments. The stone structure, completed in 1712, was torn down and a new one was built on the same site in 1823. The stone steps are all that remains of the 1712 meeting house.5

On 23 December 1727, Letters of administration were granted to Elizabeth Morris of Philadelphia County widow, on the estate of Cadwalader Morris.3
