Gerard Brandon Munson was born on 1 May 1864 at Oakland Plantation, Gulf Prairie, Brazoria County, Texas.1 She was the daughter of Gerard Brandon Munson and Ann Elizabeth Westall.1 She died circa 1899.2,3 She was buried in Munson Cemetery, Bailey's Prairie, Brazoria County, Texas.2,3
Geddie was born five weeks after her father was killed. She was a mentally afflicted child, probably as a result of her mother having measles while pregnant with her. Annie and all the children had measles in February 1864 according to a letter Gerard wrote Mordello from Oakland on the 19th of that month.
She was raised by Mordello and Sarah Munson at Ridgely and went to school on the plantation with the other children. Williamson writes, "She had her own special animals to care for and to love. When she was older she lived for a time with her sister, Mollie, in Houston, but was unhappy and homesick to return to the plantation. Her Uncle Mordello provided her with a small home and nurse, and she lived near the old home place for the remainder of her life."
