     Manasseh Lee Horn was born on 17 June 1828 in Alabama.1 He was the son of Elisha Thomas Horn and Marilda Richardson.1 He was killed in the War Between the States in Virginia.2 He was buried in Richmond, Virginia.3
     
     Manasseh Lee Horn enrolled on 6 November 1847 at age 19 in Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama, mustered in 25 November 1847 at Mobile, Mobile County, Alabama, as a member of Captain Barrs Company Batallion of Alabama Infantry (Seibels) which subsequently became Company A First Batallion, Alabama Infantry (Seibels). He mustered out and was honorably discharged as a private 28 June 1848 at Mobile.4 He never saw service in the Mexican War because it was over by the time his outfit arrived on the scene.3
