     Jesse Cobb was born circa 1730.1,3 He was the son of Robert Cobb and Mary Deberry.1 He married Elizabeth Heritage on 17 October 1771.4 He died in 1807.3

Jesse Cobb was mentioned in his father Robert Cobb's will dated 14 October 1765 in Northampton County, North Carolina.5,6

Jesse Cobb moved to Dobbs County, North Carolina, where he was elected captain of minute men, 18 October 1775.3 He was captain of militia during the Revolution, a Commissary, Commissioner on Magazines. He represented Dobbs County in the North Carolina General Assembly in 1777/78, and later. He was a school trustee, and in 1784 he was named a trustee of the town of Kingston.7,3
