     Joseph Cobb was the son of Joseph Cobb Jr. and Catherine Whitehead.3
     
     On 12 February 1761, when he was sued for debt by Simon Woodward, his attorney alleged he was then under age.4 He was charged with breach of the peace on 11 March 1762 in Southampton County, Virginia.5
