Henry Massingill was the son of Henry Massingill and Mary Cobb.1 He married first Penelope Cobb, daughter of William Cobb and Barsheba Whitehead, at Womack's Fort on Holston River, Sullivan County, Tennessee.3 He married second Mary McCorkle from whom he was divorced.3 He married third Elizabeth Emmert on 4 August 1804.3 He died on 23 September 1837 in Sullivan County, Tennessee, at age 78.4
