     Thomas Chase was born on 9 November 1677 in Martha's Vineyard, Dukes County, Massachusetts.2 He was the son of Lieutenant Isaac Chase and Mary Tilton.1 He married Jane or Jean Smith on 21 February 1704.1,2 He died on 22 December 1721 in Virginia during a coasting voyage in his sloop "Vineyard" at age 44.2 He was buried in Crossways Cemetery on Mount Aldworth Height, Vineyard Haven, Dukes County, Massachusetts.2
     
     Thomas Chase was a master mariner.2 He lived in Homes Hole (now Vineyard Haven).2 His estate was divided 15 October 1725.2
