John Thimbleby, Knt., of Irnham and Bourne, Lincolnshire, and Brigford-by-Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, was born circa 1482.1 He was the son of Richard Thimbleby Esq. and Elizabeth Hilton.1 He married Margaret Boys, daughter of John Boys, of Conesby in West Halton, Lincolnshire, before 1507. He died testate in 1550.1
John Thimbleby Knt. was one of the knights and gentlemen who served as servitors at the Coronation of Queen Anne Boleyn in 1533.1 At the time of the Lincolnshire Rebellion in 1536, John Thimbleby fell under suspicion of treason, being called "the great traitor" by Richard Cromwell, but he was subsequently exonerated.
