     Richard Thimbleby, Knt., of Irnham, Beelsby, Bulby, and Hawthorpe, Lincolnshire, Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, and Lynn Regis, Norfolk, was born circa 1507.3 He was the son of John Thimbleby Knt. and Margaret Boys.4 He married Katherine Tyrwhit (or Tyrwhitt), daughter of Sir Robert Tyrwhit and Maud Tailboys.2 He married (2nd) Elizabeth Moore.3 Sir Richard Thimbleby died on 28 September 1590 in Irnham, Lincolnshire.2,3
     
     Richard Thimbleby Knt. was Sheriff of Lincolnshire and Knight of the Shire for Lincolnshire.3 He was heir in 1550 to his father, John Thimbleby Knt.3 During the reign of Queen Mary (between 1553 and 1558), he was a convinced Protestant, being classified as "earnest in religion."3 He and Katherine Tyrwhit had three sons, Edward, John and Richard, and four daughters, including Anne, Elizabeth and Mary.3 He and Elizabeth Moore had one son.3
