     Silas Richardson was born on 27 December 1773 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.1 He was the son of Josiah Richardson and Lydia Warren.1 He married first Lydia Marcy, daughter of Bartholomew Marcy and Mary (—?—), on 30 October 1797 at Westford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.2 He married Lucy Tarr circa 1806.3
     
     Silas Richardson was a shoemaker and farmer in Westford, joining Chelmsford, and was one of the selectmen of Westford several years.3 He moved in 1802 to Greene, Kennebec County, Maine.3 He and Lydia had three children.3 He and Lucy had seven children.
