     David Stowell was born on 7 July 1736 in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut.2 He was the son of David Stowell and Mary Foster.1 He married Sarah Royse, daughter of James Royce and Mehitable Arnold, on 13 November 1756 in Willington, Tolland County, Connecticut.3 He died on 7 December 1786 in Rockingham, Vermont, at age 50.3
     
     David Stowell joined Willington Church, 26 July 1761.4 David and Sarah were admitted by letter to Walpole, New Hampshire Church in 1768.4 He lived at Willington, Connecticut and Walpole, New Hampshire, and was in Rockingham, Vermont before 3 March 1778 when and where he took the oath to support the Constitution of Vermont.4 He and Sarah Royse had eight children.4 Administration on the estate of David Stowell of Rockingham was granted to John Stowell. on 27 March 1788.5
