     Archelaus Stowell was born on 4 April 1764 in Ashford, Windham County, Connecticut.1 He was the son of Jonathan Stowell and Rhoda Wilson.1 He married Olive Bugbee, daughter of Timothy Bugbee and Hannah Wood, on 4 November 1791 in Ashford, Windham County, Connecticut.2 He died after 1825 in Virgil, New York.2
     
     Archelaus and Olive Stowell had seven children, all born in Mansfield, Tolland County, Connecticut.2
