     John Woodsum was baptized on 16 April 1732 in First Church, Berwick, York County, Maine.1 He was the son of Joseph Woodsum and Abigail Abbot.1 He married Mary Bracket on 8 November 1747 in Berwick, York County, Maine. Their marriage was solemnized by Rev. Jeremiah Wise.2
     
     John Woodsum, brother Joseph, and their father appear on a list of Captain John Hill's company, on 22 October 1740 in Berwick.3 He was a taxpayer in Berwick in 1772.4
