     Ruth Littlefield was born on 6 March 1709/10 in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts.1 She was the daughter of Edmund Littlefield and Elizabeth Mott.1 She married first John Dyer, son of John Dyer and Anna (—?—) (Dyer), on 15 August 1727 at Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1 She married second Samuel Payne Jr., son of Samuel Payne Sr. and Mary Penniman, on 7 July 1741 at Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts.1 She died on 23 December 1801 in Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, at age 91.1 She was buried in Scotland Cemetery, Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts,: In memory of the widow Ruth Pain wife of Mr. Samuel Pain of Braintree who died Dec. 23, 1801 in her 90th year.1
     
     Ruth Littlefield and John Dyer had four children.1 She and Samuel Payne Jr. had two children.1
