Borden Thurber was born on 20 October 1748 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.1 He was the son of Benjamin Thurber and Elizabeth Hallett.1 He married first Sarah Sabean, daughter of Jeremiah Sabean, circa 1767.1 He married second Mary Shaw in 1803.1 He died in Freeport, Digby County, Nova Scotia.1
