     Samuel Wilson Thurber was born on 6 May 1752 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.1 He was the son of Benjamin Thurber and Elizabeth Hallett.1 He married first Sarah "Sally" Huntoon before 1773.1 He married second Lydia Melardy on 30 November 1815 at Croydon, New Hampshire.1 He died on 16 November 1832 in Unity, New Hampshire, at age 80.1
     
     Samuel Wilson Thurber and Sarah "Sally" Huntoon had five children.1
