     Benjamin Stone was born on 26 November 1759.1 He was the son of Jonathan Stone and Phebe Downing.1 He married first Anna Perkins on 22 October 1787.1 He married second Sarah Patten on 22 July 1822.1 He died on 28 September 1826 at age 66.1
     
     Benjamin served in Capt. John Elden's company, Col. Robinson's regiment from February to April, 1775.1 Benjamin and Anna Stone had at least nine children. The will of Benjamin Stone, gentleman, made 15 September 1826, proved 6 March 1827, mentions his wife Sarah, his elder children Abner, Phebe and Jonathan and his younger children Sally, Anna, Lois, Mary, Sophia and Benjamin.2 The will of his daughter Sarah Stone lists her brothers and sisters as Abner and Jonathan Stone, Mary, Lois and Phebe Stone, Anna Clark and Sophia Twombley.3
