     Captain Henry Farwell was born on 18 December 1674 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.3 He was the son of Ensign Joseph Farwell and Hannah Learned.2 He married Susanna Richardson, daughter of Josiah Richardson and Remembrance Underwood, on 23 January 1695/96 in Chelmsford.1 His will was presented for probate on 4 December 1738.4
     
     Captain Henry Farwell removed with his father from Chelmsford to Old Dunstable about 1699, where his name appears on record as one of the first settlers. He lived on the "Butterfield farm" in that part of the town afterwards set off as Tyngsborough. He held a prominent position in town affairs.5 He left a will dated 26 September 1738 in Dunstable, Middlesex County, Massachusetts.6
