     Benjamin Major was born on 1 February 1703 in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Major and Hannah Bailey.1 He is said to have been killed by Indians in 1725 at Cape Porpus, York County, Maine.2
     
     Benjamin Major was granted land at Cape Porpus in 1720.2 He apparently never married.2
