     John Acie was born circa 1638.4 He was the son of William Acie and Margaret Haiton.3 He married Hannah Greene of Hampton, daughter of Henry Greene Esq. and Mary (—?—) (Greene), on 5 June 1676 in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts.2,5 He apparently died before 22 April 1689, when his father William bequeathed to the three daughters of John Acy.6

March 1656, Ipswich Quarterly Court: Jonathan Platts, Henry Ryley and John Acee fined on their presentments at last court.7

At Ipswich Quarterly Court on 31 March 1657, Ezekiel Mighill and Philip Nelison deposed that they heard Mr. Shepard say to John Asy (Acie) that he had better let John Pickard alone and not sue him, for he would "winde out."8

In ?: 12: 1661 (February 1661/62) John Acie witnessed a deed from Philip Nellson, Jeremiah Jewet and John Carleton, of Rowley, executors of the estate of Joseph Jewett, late of Rowley, deceased, for 30li. 10s., to James Baly of Rowley. Acie signed his name.9

June 1663, Salem Quarterly Court: John Acy, being indicted for breach of the peace, and desiring to be tried by a jury, was found guilty and fined. Also Tho. Burby and John Acy, for provoking speeches at the smith's shop in Rowly, provoking one another, and unworthy carriages, were ordered to make acknowledgment in open court which they did.10

September 1664, Ipswich Quarterly Court: John Acie, for his great misdemeanors, was ordered to pay a fine, lie a week in prison and to be bound to good behavior. William Acie and Jonathan Platts, sureties, for Acie's appearance at the next Ipswich court.

John Acie, Rich, Swan and William Acie bound for John Acie's commitment to prison within a fortnight.

Josuah Bradley deposed that he heard John Acie own that he said to his father that an old man, etc., and that there was no believing what he said. Further that he had wronged his conscience in speaking to uphold his father's honor but he should do so no more, for he had enough in black and white, which if he brought it forth, would make them both ashamed to mention his mother. Sworn in court. Sept 1664 III: 197.11

March 1665, Ipswich Quarterly Court: John Acie, upon proclamation made and none objecting, was discharged of his bond for good behavior, as were also his sureties.12

Ipswich Court, September 1668: John Tod v. Jonathan Platts and John Acie. For impeaching and disturbing his title to land. Verdict for plaintiff. (This was a boundary dispute.).13

John Acie was a member of the trial jury in 1669.14

John Acie was one of the appraisers of the estate of Mr. Anthony Crosbie, deceased, on 19 February 1672.15

Bond, dated 7 March 1671/72, given by Samuell Bishop of Ipswich to Abell Langley of Rowley, for 106li. 18s., to be paid in wheat and barley at said Langley's dwelling house, to secure him for a debt of 53li. 9s. in wheat, barley and pork. Wit:: William Acie and Sarah Bishop. Acknowledged, Apr. 1, 1679, by Acie before Jo. Woodbridge, associate, and by Sarah Bishop before Robert Lord, cleric. John Acie also made oath to his father Wm. Acie's signature.16

Ipswich Quarterly Court, March 1673: John Acie and Jonathan Platts surrendered a deed to Mrs. Prudence Crosbie, which deed Mr. Anthony Crosbie made to them, dated Feb. 14, 1665 and recorded Oct. 6, 1666.17

John Acie deposed in Salem Quarterly Court in June 1674.18

Tho. Lovell and John Acie, on 11: 4: 1674, appraised the housing and lands taken by execution from Jeremiah Jewett of Ipswich and Mr. Nelson of Rowley...19 He was John Acie v. John Pickerd. Defamation. Verdict for defendant. After being sent out again, the jury brought in a verdict for plaintiff. in March 1675.

In March 1674/75 John Acie was a deputy for Robert Lord, marshal of Ipswich.20

John Acie deposed in Ipswich Quarterly Court in April 1677.21

Ipswich Quarterly Court, 24 September 1678: John Acye, aged about forty years, and Andrew Hiddin, aged about fifty-five years, deposed...22

March 1682, Ipswich Quarterly Court: Thomas Lever v. John Scales and John Acie. Trespass. Verdict for plaintiff, the land in controversy.23

John Acie gave bond, 7 April 1686.24
