Bertie Harris
Bertie was a brilliant man who was studying medicine at Tulane when he fell "head over heels" for Yvonne. He dropped out of school and returned to Brazoria County with his wife and son sometime between 1924 and 1928, where he was for years the editor of the Angleton Times. Yvonne left him, and although he married again in 1940, the writer only remembers him living with his mother in Angleton, and has no recollection of a wife. I adored him, I hope because he adored me rather than because he gave me a silver dollar at each visit.
