Anne (—?—) (Armstrong) was born circa 1739.1 Anne married John Armstrong, son of Joseph Armstrong and Jennet (—?—) (Armstrong).1 She died on 6 February 1823 in Orange County, North Carolina.1 Her will was proved in February 1823.2
Some researchers give her surname as Whitted which may be correct. However, as far as the writer can tell, there is no proof and only scant circumstantial evidence, that is, two Whitteds, Robert and Levi, witnessed Anne's will, and her daughter Jane (Jennet), and Jane's husband, Reverend John Hanks, named their youngest child "Polley White head." Anne is the presumed mother of John Armstrong's children because nothing has been found to indicate that John married more than once.
