     Mary Morris was born in 1779 in Hilltown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.1 She was the daughter of Benjamin Morris and Mary Mason.1 She and William Magil of Doylestown were married in March 1801 by the Reverend James McLaughlin, minister of Hilltown Baptist Church, in a double wedding ceremony with Mary's sister Rachel and Thomas Rowland.1,2 She died on 9 October 1856.1 She was buried in Baptist Church Cemetery, New Britain, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.1
     
     Soon after they married they moved to Doylestown where they kept a public house for a number of years.3
