     Paschal Pavolo Borden was born in December 1806.1 He was the son of Gail Borden Sr. and Philadelphia Wheeler. He married Martha Ann Stafford on 19 July 1842.1 He died on 28 April 1864 in Egypt, Wharton County, Texas, at age 57.2
     
     Paschal came to Texas from Indiana in 1829 with his father. He took part in the war for Texas independence, belonging to Sam Houston's army, Mosley Baker's company, Burleson's regiment, which did great service in the battle of San Jacinto, 21 April 1836.1
