William Joseph Borden was born on 1 January 1849 in Richmond, Fort Bend County, Texas.1 He was the son of Paschal Pavolo Borden and Martha Ann Stafford.1 He married Emma Eliza Graves on 20 May 1880 in Galveston, Galveston County, Texas.1 He died in July 1898 in New York City, New York, at age 49.1
