Mordello Stephen Murray was born on 27 October 19151 or 27 December 1915 in Houston, Harris County, Texas.2 He was the son of George Bascom Murray and Ella Elizabeth Walling.2,1 He never married. He died approximately 14 August 1945 of a gunshot wound to the head, a probable suicide, in Houston at age 29.2 He was buried on 18 August 1945 in Woodlawn Garden of Memories, Houston.2 
Mordello Stephen Murray was a corporal in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio at the time of his death, but he died in Houston. Williamson, in The Munsons of Texas, gives his death date as 17 August 1945,1 but the death certificate gives an approximate date, stating that he was dead when first seen.2
