John Nix was born on 5 August 1871 in Stanford, Lincoln County, Kentucky.2 He married Lula May Horn, daughter of William Lemuel Horn and Naomi Simmons, on 31 May 1901 in Carnegie, Caddo County, Oklahoma.2 He died on 6 November 1956 in Carnegie, Caddo County, Oklahoma, at age 85.2 He was buried in Carnegie Cemetery.2
