     Thomas Jackson Owens was born circa 1837 in Georgia.3 He was the son of Daniel Owens.2 He married Celia Ann Alice Horn, daughter of Elisha Thomas Horn and Marilda Richardson, in 1853 in Neshoba County, Mississippi.4

Thomas Jackson Owens was killed in the War Between the States. Quoting his grandson Walter Thornton, Thomas "was wounded fatally in a skirmish near Frankfort, Kentucky (possibly Franklin, Tennessee), after the 'surrender.5'"
