Mary Jane Wells1

b. circa 1809
Family Background:
Horn and Allied Families
Mary Jane Wells was born circa 1809 in Georgia.2 She, a widow, married Elisha Thomas Horn on 21 August 1860 in Leake County, Mississippi.3 She was buried in Zion Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, near Carthage, Leake County, Mississippi.1

Mary Jane Wells was a widow with grown children when she married Elisha Thomas Horn. There is some speculation that her daughter was the mother of Joshua Lawrence Horn's illegitimate son. Josh, who was Elisha Thomas' son, did acknowledge an illegitimate son, William Lewis, from the day he was born, but the mother never did. Joshua, to anyone's knowledge, never named her.4
