Burty C. Richardson was born on 15 July 1820 in Johnston County, North Carolina.1 He was the son of Applewhite W. Richardson and Willy Holder.1 He married Harriet Earp, daughter of Littleberry Earp and Martha Lee, on 2 January 1838 in Johnston County, North Carolina.1 He died on 21 September 1864 in Johnston County, North Carolina, at age 44.1
