Ligon Foster
     William Ligon Foster was born on 26 May 1905 in Whitesboro, Grayson County, Texas.1 He married Catherine Munson, daughter of George Poindexter Munson Sr. and Louise Underwood, on 30 December 1929 in Louisiana.2 He died on 25 October 1998 in Angleton, Brazoria County, Texas, at age 93.1 He was buried in Munson Cemetery, Bailey's Prairie, Brazoria County, Texas.3 Click to view image
     
     Ligon was working for General Motors when he and Catherine married. Transfers took them to several places in Texas and Oklahoma before they moved permanently to Brazoria County in 1944. Ligon owned a Pontiac dealership in Angleton. He served several terms on the city council and was mayor from 1973 to 1975.
