Additional Data
On 13 May 1814, there was a division of twelve slaves belonging to the estate of James Cobb decd. among his four heirs, namely John B. Cobb, John Coleman and wife, Wiley Coleman, and James Cobb. This division is recorded in Wayne Co. Ledger, 1812/1816, p. 117. The ledger erroneously gives the name Wiley Croom instead of Wiley Coleman, but the original record in the Wayne Co. Courthouse states the name correctly.1

John and Rhoda Coleman appeared on the 1 June 1850 Federal Census of Greene County, Alabama, enumerated 9 November 1850. Their children Rhoda E. and Martha J. were listed as living with them.2 Click to view image
