On 13 May 1814, there was a division of twelve slaves belonging to the estate of James Cobb decd. among his four heirs, namely John B. Cobb, John Coleman and wife, Wiley Coleman, and James Cobb. This division is recorded in Wayne Co. Ledger, 1812/1816, p. 117. The ledger erroneously gives the name Wiley Croom instead of Wiley Coleman, but the original record in the Wayne Co. Courthouse states the name correctly.2
