     George Freeman Hill was born on 22 March 1799 in Biddeford, York County, Maine.1 He was the son of Elisha Hill and Charlotte Freeman.3,4 He married Abra Hayes, daughter of Deacon John Hayes and Sarah Alden King, on 8 January 1832.5,2 He married second Jane Hultz on 5 March 1844 There were no children from this marriage.1 He died in February 1875 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, at age 75.1
     
     George Freeman Hill and Abra Hayes moved in 1835 to Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, in the company of Abra's cousins, Asa, Oliver, and Charles Fairfield. Abra died within the year. (An article in the Maine Historical and Genealogical Recorder, entitled "David King of Saco," incorrectly states that it was George who died soon after the move).1
