     Seth Stowell was born on 9 September 1742 in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut.2 He was the son of Nathaniel Stowell and Margaret Trowbridge.1 He married Dinah Holt, daughter of Joshua Holt and Mary Abbott, on 30 June 1778 in Pomfret, Windham County, Connecticut.3 He died on 3 April 1798 in Union, Tolland County, Connecticut, at age 55.3
     
     Seth lived at Abington, Pomfret, Ashford and Union, Connecticut. He was one of those who helped to buy and equip a vessel to act as privateer during the Revolution.3 He and Dinah had four children.4
