     Obadiah Emery was born before February 1719/20 in Berwick, York County, Maine.1 He was the son of James Emery and Elizabeth Nock.1 He was baptized on 28 February 1719/20 in First Church, Berwick.2 Marriage intentions for Obadiah Emery and Sarah Dyer , daughter of William Dyer and Mary Chadbourne, were published on 19 June 1742 in Biddeford, York County, Maine.3 They married on 9 August 1742 in Biddeford, York County, Maine.1 He died in March 1803.1
     
     Obadiah Emery moved circa 1740 from Berwick to Biddeford.1 He and Sarah had eleven children.1 He was surveyor of highways 1747; fence viewer 1750-52; tithingman 1754, 1773; constable 1757; selectman 1771; member of committee on correspondence, inspection and safety 1777-80 in Biddeford.1 Corporal Obadiah Emery was in Capt. Thomas Bradbury's "Train-band" in April 1757.1 He was on the "Alarm List" on 9 March 1758.1
